Metatron’s Cube and the five Platonic Solids

The most complex all-encompassing form of geometry starts with a set pattern, which is known as the “Flower of Life.” This pattern is 6000 years old and contains nineteen overlapping circles and equilateral triangles that are intertwined and together form a perfect geometric model. This image was called the “Merkaba” in ancient Egypt, where “mer” stands for field of light or energy, “ka” for soul and “ba” for body. This Merkaba symbolised the energy field that surrounds the human body. Throughout century’s philosophers, artists and architect have considered the Flower of Life to be the symbol of perfection and harmony. Is it known as the ultimate symbol of Sacred Geometry in which the fundamental forms of space and time are stored.

Derived from this pattern is the Tree of Life, an oblong geometric model that has been used by different religions for centuries, including Kaballah. Also the Star of David is derived from this pattern. In the basis of the Flower of Life one can find another model, which is known as the Fruit of Life. This symbol consists of thirteen circles and forms the basis of Metatron’s Cube. This is also known as the blueprint of the universe, as it forms the basic principle to the design of every atom, every molecular structure, and every form of life that exists.
Inside the structure of Metatron’s Cube one can find the five Platonic Solids. These are the only possible congruent polyhedra, such as the cube with six faces, the Tetrahedron with four faces, the Octahedron with eight faces, the Dodecahedron with twelve faces and the Icosahedron with 22 faces. Over 2500 years ago Pythagoras already knew of the existence of three of these shapes. Plato named all five of them as the ‘cosmic building blocks of the world’ and related them to the five elements: earth, water, fire, air and ‘heavenly matter’ of ether.
